Alaska via the Inner Passage

Day 1 - leaving Vancouver for Juneau

Leaving Canada place, downtown Vancouver

Going up the Inner passage to Alaska, keep your minds clean now was a wonderful experience! The check in onto the Zuiderdam our ship, was designated as 12pm - we arrived right on time. Shew, from the time we arrived until we actually got onto the ship took 3 hours - if you were canadian or american you popped on quite easily, the rest of us had to sit in gruelling lines for over an hour in each section! I did manage however to sneak back through the xray centre and arrange a couple of coffees and a snack, good job to! Well at 3pm we were finally on deck, yipee! First stop lunch and a spread to die for, aparently you are guarenteed to gain 1.5 pounds a day, i can definately see why! At 5pm we all raced up to the viewing deck as we left Canada place with spectacular views of both North, West and downtown Vancouver.
Before the ship sets sail you have to go for a practice life boat session and then we were off!

Going under the Lions Gate bridge which joins downtown and West Vancouver was pretty awesome to.

The departure is kicked off with a band and drinks on deck, very pleasant! After getting a little further into our trip the weather set in and it was time for dinner, we had arranged a 5.30pm sitting so back to eating, hmm, not sure where to put it all. However i still managed to polish off coffee fridge cake and half an apple strudel, gym to tomorrow! As the boat holds 1900 people you can imagine that its quite large, so a walk around takes a good 20 minutes or so. Tonights entertainment is a show of sorts so that should be interesting!

The cabins are really nice far superior than i expected with stocked fridge and tv, yipee! So my day might look like this, gym, eat, swim, eat, gym, show, eat, tv! What can i say life is tough!
